The benefits of Infrared Therapy
HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM TRADITIONAL SAUNAS?
Traditional saunas use indirect heat set at temperatures between 80°C to 100°C. This indirect heat warms the air around you but does not penetrate deep within the skin. By doing this, the sauna environment becomes uncomfortably hot and challenging to breathe in. You will also only be sweating from the surface level of your skin.
At Pure Wellness Studio, you will have your own private room within one of our state-of-the-art Sunlighten cedar wood infrared saunas. Your sauna will be fully-equipped to support your wellness needs. Please note that our private rooms are thoroughly cleaned using non-toxic natural disinfectant after every session.

THE BENEFITS OF
Learn more about the six main benefits of Infrared Therapy.
Detoxification is important in maintaining optimum health and wellbeing. Here at Pure Wellness Studio we aim to rid the body of harmful toxins which can affect your health. Our infrared saunas induce sweating which increases circulation and helps remove environmental toxins from the skin, kidneys, colon, and liver – meaning you will leave your session feeling refreshed.
One of the many benefits of infrared therapy is that you burn calories during your session in the sauna. As you begin to sweat your body will work to cool itself down, this in turn increases your heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, allowing the body to burn more calories.
Near infrared therapy can help to heal the epidermis and dermis layers and rejuvenate your skin, which in turn can help slow down ageing. The therapy also increases collagen production which reduces wrinkles and improves the overall skin tone.
Your sessions at Pure Wellness Studio are as much about a mental detox as they are a physical one. Our 45-minute sessions are the perfect opportunity for you to relax and focus on self-care in a quiet and tranquil environment. Your time in the infrared sauna will relieve muscle tension which will help you relax and de-stress.
Infrared therapy also improves blood flow and circulation, as the body heats up your blood vessels dilate, and your heart rate increases. This in turn helps oxygen and vital nutrients travel around the body.
Infrared heat can also act as a form of natural pain relief. The heat helps reduce inflammation and swelling in the joints and muscles.
As well as the general benefits of infrared, each of our infrared saunas uses a combination of near, mid and far infrared wavelengths. Each wavelength has its own specific function and benefits.
Near-infrared waves have a shorter frequency range and penetrate the outer (epidermis) layer of the skin. This effect makes it a safe and optimal choice for skin rejuvenation, wound healing and skin health.
Mid-infrared wavelengths penetrate deeper into the body. Mid infrared therapy is so good at increasing circulation that it can induce the same effects of a passive cardiovascular workout.
Far infrared raises the core body temperature and produces a deep, detoxifying sweat. The heat penetrates your body at the cellular level, where most toxins reside. Far infrared also aids in blood pressure reduction & weight loss, burning up to 600 calories in one 45-minute session!

PICK YOUR COLOUR
Chromotherapy is the practice of using colour and light to improve your mental and physical state. At Pure Wellness Studio, we use chromotherapy lights in our infrared saunas so you can maximise the benefits of both therapies.
Chromotherapy uses colours on the visible spectrum to balance bodily vibrations and bring them up or down to frequencies that improve your health and wellbeing. Different colours have different effects. At Pure Wellness Studio, we focus our therapy on six key shades - blue, violet, red, orange, green and yellow.
