Simple Back, Neck and Shoulder Stretches You Can Do Anywhere

Sometimes life gets busy. But that doesn’t mean you should neglect your body and its needs. Stretching is so important - it increases blood flow to muscles, improves posture, heals and prevents back pain, relieves stress and improves flexibility.

Here are some super simple stretches you can absolutely anywhere - at your office desk, in bed or hey, even in our infrared saunas!

Eagle arms stretch

1) Eagle Arms

This stretch is amazing for opening up your upper back and shoulders. Lift your left forearm in front of your face and bend your elbow to create a right angle. Then place your right elbow underneath your left elbow and wrap your forearms around until your hands meet in a prayer position. Repeat on the opposite side.

Neck rotations

2) Neck Rotations

Release tension and keep the blood flowing around your neck by rolling your head in slow gentle circles. Then tilt your head to the left side and use your left hand to gently put pressure on the side of your head, furthering the stretch. Be sure not to hunch your shoulders during this. Then repeat on your opposite side.

Spinal rotation

3) Spinal Rotation

Twist out your lower back to aid and prevent back pain after being seated for a prolonged period of time. Sit with your feet flat on the floor and twist your upper body so that your shoulders rotate to one side. Repeat on both sides.

Shoulder Shrugs

4) Shoulder Shrugs

Release tension in your shoulders and de-stress. Lift your shoulders up towards your ears and tense as hard as you can for 10 seconds before releasing.
